There is also appreciable amount of amygdalin in the following types of food; grasses such as alfalfa, milk weed, wheat grass and white dover; broad beans, lima beans, chickpeas and lentils; among the grains are oats, barley, brown rice, chia, millet, rye, wheat berries etc. Miscellaneous sources of amygdalin are bamboo shoots, sorghum, fuschia plant, cassava and bitter leaf. Mode of action of Vitamin B17
Amygdalin is a diglucoside, which contains two molecules of glucose, a cyanide radical and benzaldehyde. These are all held in a molecule of amygdalin. When this molecule comes in contact with a cancer cell, it is broken by an enzyme known as beta glucosidase found only in the cancer cell. As this happens, amygdalin is broken down to the 2 molecules of glucose; one molecule of benzaldehyde and one molecule of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) are formed. The hydrogen cyanide, thus formed, directly acts upon and destroys the cancer cell that released the enzyme. This mode of action of vitamin B17 makes it highly specific for cancer cells. HCN is not free flowing in the blood stream or tissues of the body. It has to be formed and beta glucosidase is the ONLY enzyme that mediates the reaction to form HCN.
We need to note that beta glucosidase is found only in cancer cells. In other words, where there are no cancer cells, there is no beta glucosidase and if beta glucosidase is absent you cannot have the formation of hydrogen cyanide. Normal cells are therefore not in danger of destruction by cyanide in amygdalin. The normal cells of the body have an enzyme called Rhodanese, which neutralizes amygdalin and prevents it from releasing the cyanide. Cancer cells do not have this enzyme. In the absence of Rhodanese therefore, beta glucosidase in the cancer cell acts on the vitamin B17 molecule, which releases the cyanide to destroy it. This is the wisdom of GOD. Also, as amygdalin attacks the unhealthy cancer cell, it is transformed into a silicate, much like aspirin with analgesic properties. What this means is that amygdalin has analgesic properties, which help to take care of the pain arising from the tumour.
That cancer cells are being formed in every human being on a daily basis is not in dispute. The question then is; Why does every human being not have cancer.
