Theme:
THERE IS NOTHING HIDDEN THAT SHALL NOT BE REVEALED

Text:
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”. – 2 Peter 3:9.

Comment:
As the text for today says, God gives the evil-doer time so that he would hear warning and repent before calamity befalls him. Solomon asserted in the following text, that though sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, yet: “though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely …it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God”. (Ecclesiastes 8:11-13)

Further assurance of punishment for evil doers is given in the following text: “But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” – Psalm 50:16-22.
